September 2004: Cidermill at BEC (Systems Integration)
BEC(SI) specialises in factory data collection systems, in particular using barcode tracking devices to record movement of parts and machining cycles. Whilst the sales team are experts in their field, they needed a better understanding of the complete business process. They wanted to spot opportunities beyond the narrow focus of barcode readers, for which they are are already well known. They also needed to find new areas to apply their existing technology experience. We suggested a condensed version of the Cidermill Manufacturing Industry ´QuickStart´ course.

Over 2 days on-site in Blackburn we provided to the BEC(SI) team the following sessions:

• What is Manufacturing?
• The Elevator Pitch
• How to Interpret an Annual Report
• The BEC(SI) Sales Process

Judging from the ratings of the participants, the course was a great success. Armed with a broader understanding of the needs of modern manufacturing companies, a new way to identify key aspects of a prospect´s business from their financial report, plus an ability to promote the BEC(SI) sales message, the motivated team is enthusiastically chasing opportunities in both new and existing customers.
